Find out who is making the films and why

20 years in the making

I founded Lasting Legacy in 2023, as a new way for people to tell stories and remember loved ones through a memorial film.

I have 20 years of experience making short films mainly for businesses and usually in the role of a creative producer/director, but also as an editor, motion graphics designer, and cameraman.

I have always been passionate about telling engaging stories with honesty and personality. As such, I found my voice in making authentic films and short documentaries, notably a series on Illustrator/artists and their process, history and inspirations called “Self Initiated”.

Family we won't forget

In 2022, my family tragically lost five members, including my Dad. The process of going through old photos and documents, writing eulogies, and discussing ways to remember them inspired me to set up Lasting Legacy.

I saw it as an indelible way to memorialise all those photos and videos in albums and saved on phones, or to capture the anecdotes and tales shared at funerals and with old friends.

Manchester central

I'm a natural problem solver and working as an editor for many years has helped me distill content and simplify messages with confidence until they are comprehensive and memorable for the audience

I am currently based in Manchester, and after covid came calling I moved out of our studio in town and converted my garage into a home office with super-fast broadband and a big retro leather chair.

The benefit of the system and website I’ve built, however is that you can be located anywhere in the country to use the service. Once you order, you upload photos, videos and text about your loved one through a simple form on the website. I then produce the film at my end with regular feedback and updates. Once the film is complete, the memorial page and QR code is made and the plaque or memorial stone is shipped directly to your door.

A real story

From a personal point of view, I wanted to do something to capture my own dad’s story so my children (and potentially theirs) can learn from one day when the time is right.

The idea fit perfectly with my approach to filmmaking, which has always driven by story, brevity, clarity and most importantly authenticity. I’m a big believer in keeping things real, which means (if possible) real people, real commentary and a real narrative. If a story is authentic it'll engage with your audience, make a connection and be remembered.

Lasting Legacy has the potential to be all these things and more.

Keep their memory alive
